Whatta Man

Here is my pup. He is my best friend. I got him from a rescue group thru petfinder. He was found on the streets of Puerto Rico. Rhonda, was saint who was rescuing dogs, and with a full car of them on her way to the vets, little Oliver walked out onto the road and looked at her. She didn't have any room for him in her car so she kept driving. Not long after she turned her car around and went back for him. She scooped him up and placed him in her lap. He nibbled on her hand (prob trying to kiss her but he has a HUGE overbite due to a collar being put on him when he was a pup so his top jaw is much bigger than his bottom one). At the shelter he was made to eat soft food (due to his dental situation) however they caught him eating another dogs dry food, and realized that he was fine w it. A lady in Jaffrey (who works FT and has 4 kids) was working to place these pups into good homes. I contacted her to tell her how badly I wanted this little one to be part of my family. She agreed that Franz and I were the right people for him after going thru at least 20 applications. We went to her house to meet him, and fell in love. She was amazing. Told us that we could take our time to decide. They want to match you with the right dog for your personality and living situation. And if you don't match they inform you of other dogs, so it isn't like this is it, you take him or else which is very important, but not a practice generally followed. We ended up taking him home a few days later. Our vet estimated that he was 6 months to a year old. He had hair on his back, and head, but not much anywhere else. They told us that he had so much damage to his skin that it was possible that he wouldn't grow any hair back in the bald places. We didn't care. He was such a delight. Very gracious, and happy all the time. Turns out the little fucker not only grew ALL his hair back, I have to get him groomed (ie shaved) every couple months. We have had him for three years this month, and he is everything to me. Franz and I are not together anymore, but he stays with him whenever he wants. Ta da! Oliver

i want to squeeze ponch till he poops his fur. haha!
my dog was a rescue dog too. she was days away from being euthanized when rescued. also was prego n only 1 yr. old. she had 7 puppies and ate one of them. she hated being a mom i guess, and only wanted to play since she was a pup herself. they had to hold her down so the her pups could breast feed or nurse or whatever...yeah, i guess it's called nursing w/ dogs.
anyway, i love her. bryan has her at mo, but she is moving in soon. i love her.
kat, that is a sad story! poor little pup was probably raped! aw...
Maybe she ate one because there was something wrong with it. Animals have crazy instincts about that sort of stuff.
maybe she was hungry. i dunno. yeah, she was prob gang raped by a pack of dingos.
yeah its actually not that rare for an mom animal to eat a new born. Cats do it a lot. Something was probably wrong with the puppy. Its their way of controlling natural selection. I think they will also sometimes kill the runt if theres seems like there wont be enough food around
sometimes they just do it if they are crazy. I had a cat that fell of the roof and got a brain injury when she was pregnant and she ate ALL of her babies.
james is driving me nuts! just yelling my name from upstairs!
ha ha! BUTTON BUTTON!
Teesh have you ever considered writing a book? You have some pretty crazy stories. Ado- come back soon.
im going to start writing down all the crazy waiting table stories, and maybe ill write a book someday...my friend mike was going to start filming us at one point, cause he wanted to make a documentary on how crazy we all were and the crazy customers we have.. seriously, i have never worked in a wierder restaurant
That is a really good idea. You should do it. You can bring a journal to work to jot stuff down, so you don't forget it,a nd post some of them!
